Apricus, a manufacturer of solar thermal water heaters for residential and commercial use, has announced the opening of a new 80,000 square-foot factory in Nanjing, China.

‘With this increased capacity for production, we expect a two- to three-fold increase in sales in 2008,’ says Michael Humphreys, founder and president of Apricus. ‘This new facility will also help lower our cost of production, so that we can deliver our environmentally conscious solar collectors to consumers at an even more affordable rate.’

The new facility, which is located on a 5.7-acre lot, will also serve as an advertisement for the Apricus product line: The company's solar collectors will cover its rooftop, contributing to the facility's hot water and heating needs.
