SGI-Mitabu, an Australia-based consortium that includes The Solar Guys International and Mitabu Australia, says it has secured funding for the first 50 MW of the 250 MW One Solar Watt Per Person program in Indonesia.

Earlier this year, SGI-Mitabu signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources to develop solar power projects across Indonesia. Since then, the consortium has worked with its financial partners to secure the funds to start development of the first stage, a 50 MW installation.

All of the projects will be funded through a power purchase agreement model, according to Dane Muldoon, director of The Solar Guys International.
