Old Country Roofing, a Vacaville, Calif.-based roof installer, has formed a new division that will provide solar roofing solutions to home builders and homeowners in central and northern California – OCR Solar Solutions. According to the company, the new division will design and install solar systems for rooftops.

Old Country Roofing has already signed agreements with BP Solar, Xantrex Technology Inc. and Fat Spaniel Technologies to install their products.

‘Solar is the future for roofing,’ says Aaron Nitzkin, Old Country Roofing's vice president, who will head OCR Solar Solutions. ‘I feel confident that solar will become a standard feature in new home construction moving forward.’

The affiliate will be located in a new 55,000 square-foot facility in Vacaville – one of the largest new facilities to be dedicated to residential roofing and solar installations in the state, Old Country Roofing adds.
