El Dorado Hills, Calif.-based Premier Power Inc. has completed the installation of a 200 kW solar electric system for Calistoga, Calif.-headquartered Chateau Montelena Winery. According to the winery, the system will supply 100% of the company's electricity.

‘Thanks to this new solar system, the same light that nourishes our grapes will power the machinery that helps us convert them into wine,’ says Bo Barrett, one of the company's winemakers.

The company's solar system will reduce carbon emissions by 6,625 tons – an emission reduction equivalent to the air-filtering power of 40,000 trees over the next 25 years – the winery adds.
