CSI Solar Power Inc., a subsidiary of Canadian Solar Inc., has connected its 10 MW ground-mounted solar power project in Jiangsu province in China to the state electricity grid.

Canadian Solar says 40,788 of its CS6P-245P photovoltaic modules were used on the project, which is expected to generate over 11 GWh of electricity per year. Gaochuangte New Energy provided engineering, construction and procurement services.

‘This project is another good demonstration of Canadian Solar's success in the development and construction of utility-scale solar power plants on a global basis, as well our growing momentum in China, a rapid growing emerging market that is poised to become the world's largest solar market in the years ahead,’ says Shawn Qu, chairman and CEO of Canadian Solar.
