Canadian Solar Inc. says it has now acquired – or entered into a joint venture for – 122 MW of utility-scale solar development projects within the U.S.
The 11 photovoltaic power plants range in size from 2 MW to 29 MW. Construction is planned to begin later this year, with the last project set to be completed in 2014.
Canadian Solar expects that these projects will be the first of many – marking a strategic move for the company as it expands from pure-play module sales in the U.S. to deeper collaboration with utility-scale project developers.
