Canadian Solar Inc. is launching a new portfolio of 1,500 V crystalline solar modules, offered in both 60-cell and 72-cell configurations.
Both the 60-cell (CS6K mono and CS6K poly) and 72-cell (CS6U mono and CS6U poly) configurations add more modules in a string – thus decreasing the number of combiner boxes and direct-current homeruns and amount of trenching, the company says.
According to Canadian Solar, the new module portfolio meets both International Electrotechnical Commission and Underwriter Laboratories standards. In addition, the product comes with Canadian Solar’s 25-year linear power output warranty and a 10-year product warranty on materials and workmanship.
“The state-of-the-art product design of the 1,500 V crystalline module increases the overall system performance and lowers the balance-of-system cost,” notes Dr. Shawn Qu, chairman and CEO of Canadian Solar. “We believe this new product can perfectly meet the growing demand for higher-voltage systems with lower system costs.”
