GCL New Energy Buys 68.5 MW Of North Carolina Solar Projects

Through its wholly owned subsidiary’s acquisition of two developers, China-based GCL New Energy has bought a solar project pipeline in North Carolina totaling 68.5 MW.

According to a company filing, GCL has purchased the entire equity interest in Wilson Project Companies, which owns development rights to seven projects totaling 58.5 MW. The purchase price was $4,212,000.

GCL has also acquired Jackson Project Company, which owns the development rights to a 10 MW solar project, for $720,000.
