China Launches Investigation Into European Solar Materials Suppliers

0

The Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China (MOFCOM) has officially begun an investigation into solar silicon suppliers based in Europe, representing the latest development in the ongoing solar trade war taking place among the U.S., European countries, Korea and China.

The Wall Street Journal reports that the MOFCOM will combine the European investigation – which includes an anti-subsidy component and an anti-dumping component – with its probe into U.S. and Korean polysilicon imports.

The European investigation is expected to last up to a year and may be extended through the end of April 2014. The Chinese government had indicated back in August that it may pursue such action.
