Chinese Polysilicon Producers Pressing Government To Impose Tariffs On U.S. Imports

Chinese producers of polysilicon are urging the Chinese government to impose duties on U.S. imports, Bloomberg reports.

According to the report, China's Ministry of Commerce has not accepted the cases – which is required for Chinese polysilicon makers to file anti-dumping complaints seeking the import duties.

GCL-Poly Energy Holdings Ltd. and Daqo New Energy Corp. were among the polysilicon producers that presented data to China's Ministry of Commerce, according to Bloomberg.

This most recent development escalates the growing solar trade-related tensions between the U.S. and China. Last month, the U.S. Department of Commerce issued a preliminary ruling that it would impose tariffs on Chinese PV cells and modules imported into the U.S.
