MiaSole, a manufacturer of copper indium gallium selenide (CIGS) thin-film photovoltaic solar panels, says it has received $55 million in new funding.

‘This funding comes at a time when the company has begun production of 14 percent modules with the industry's lowest capex per watt, which is now under 50 cents,’ says CEO John Carrington. He adds that the company plans to use the new funding to build out the commercial side of its business, focusing on both glass-on-glass and flexible products.

MiaSole says that, to date, it has installed over 55 MW of solar modules in a wide range of global projects across North America, Europe and Asia.
