Construction is set to begin on a 14.5 MW solar array at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Arizona. According to a recent report issued by the U.S. Air Force, the project will be completed by no later than the end of December.

The project plans were first announced in September 2010, when SunEdison was awarded the contract to finance, design, construct, operate and maintain the array.

The base plans to sell the renewable energy credits associated with the project to Tucson Electric Power (TEP). TEP's program ends on Dec. 31, which means that the project must be finished before then, the Air Force noted.
