Spire Corp. has joined Wanxiang Solar, a division of Wanxiang America Corp., in opening a new photovoltaic module production line in Rockford, Ill. The 40,000 square-foot factory uses equipment supplied by Spire and is expected to employ over 60 local workers.
‘Spire Solar Systems has additionally entered into discussions with Wanxiang in order to explore the opportunity to develop a preferred vendor relationship such that our engineering, procurement and construction systems group may purchase, when appropriate, modules manufactured by Wanxiang,’ notes Roger G. Little, chairman and CEO of Spire Corp.
