Sharp Deploys Solar Energy Storage At Baker Electric

0

Sharp Electronics Corp's Energy Systems and Services Group has installed its SmartStorage energy storage system at Baker Electric's headquarters in Escondido, Calif.

The 30 kW storage system is coupled with Baker's existing 90 kW solar photovoltaic system. Baker Electric, a channel partner of Sharp, opted for the SmartStorage system to help cap utility demand charges for its commercial building customers.

The SmartStorage system incorporates a battery-based demand management system designed to reduce commercial and industrial buildings' peak electricity use. It operates as a stand-alone unit or in concert with a solar power system.
