SHR Energy Management of Weston, Conn., has completed a 132 kW solar array on the rooftop of the Black Rock Congregational Church in Fairfield, Conn.

The solar project was financed by New York-based SunLight General Capital. The church will purchase all of the electricity generated by the system under a long-term power purchase agreement. The church, which was founded in 1848, completed construction on its new building in 2014.

‘We were delighted with the opportunity to sponsor renewable energy on our new building,’ says Ken Brix, executive director of the Black Rock Congregational Church. ‘It is very much in keeping with the spirit of the church, which seeks to be a good steward of the environment.’
