Paso Robles’ Niner Wine Estates Now 100% Solar

REC Solar has built a 359 kW solar photovoltaic project for Paso Robles, Calif.-based Niner Wine Estates that will supply 100% of the electricity needs of the winery, tasting room and restaurant.

The project consists of a 156 kW ground-mount array next to the tasting room and a 203 kW array mounted on the winery roof.

‘It's really just another step in an ongoing process of figuring out how to make our business more environmentally sustainable,’ says winery president Andy Niner.Â

Niner added that the LEED-certified winery owns all of its own vineyards, recycles all of its waste water and either grows all of the food its restaurant serves or sources it locally.
