Edwards, a supplier of vacuum and abatement equipment and services, has introduced FabWorks V2, the latest version of its FabWorks monitoring and analysis system for semiconductor and solar manufacturing.

FabWorks V2 is a licensed software package that can be integrated into a service contract. It includes a server with FabWorks V2 pre-installed, capable of monitoring up to 3,000 devices (e.g., pumps and abatement systems). The technology is used with a PC with Internet Explorer, and a single FabWorks server can simultaneously support LonWorks and Ethernet devices.

The new release offers options that extend functionality to further reduce fab operating costs and provide high-value services, the company says. These include Advanced Diagnostic Services (ADS), Smart Alert functionality (sending alerts to pagers/e-mail/SMS and RSS), open connectivity (via GEM/SECSII or OPC) and customized reports.
