Yingli Green Energy Japan Corp. Ltd. is supplying more than 2 MW of monocrystalline photovoltaic modules to Japan Benex Corp. for the use on the Benex Nagareyama Solar Port rooftop solar project.

Yingli will deliver more than 8,000 of its Panda-series modules for the project in Nagareyama, Japan, by the end of August. Scheduled to be connected to the grid in October, the array is expected to generate approximately 2.15 GWh of electricity annually.

Large rooftop solar energy systems are emerging as a trend in Japan due to limited land availability.

‘Since the project's space is limited by a small roof, our success depended on selecting a highly efficient module," says Yohei Kobayashi, executive vice president of Japan Benex.
