San Francisco-based nonprofit Everybody Solar is organizing a crowdsourcing effort to finance a new 25 kW solar project for Wildlife Associates, a wildlife sanctuary and children's educational center in Half Moon Bay, Calif.

Youness Scally, executive director of Everybody Solar, says the organization seeks to raise $78,500 to build the array, which is expected to cut Wildlife Associates' electric bill by 90%, saving $10,000 per year.

To kick off its fundraising efforts, Everybody Solar will host a charity event in San Francisco at Elixir on Sept. 17. Individuals can donate directly to the project here.
