FCC Energia has completed the 50 MW Guzman plant, its first solar thermal power plant in Spain. The project is located in Palma del Rio, Cordoba.

FCC created a 70:30 joint venture with Japan-based Mitsui to build the plant, which cost approximately 280 million euros and employed more than 500 workers during peak construction periods, the company notes.Â

Spain's Andalusia region, where the Guzman project is located, now has 950 MW of solar thermal technology operating, says Antonio Avila, minister of the economy for Andalusia's regional government.
