Solar manufacturer Hanwha SolarOne says it is opening its first office in Israel. The office will be located in Modiin, near Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, and will be managed by Eran Kopel, Hanwha SolarOne's new sales and marketing director for Israel.

Prior to joining Hanwha SolarOne, Kopel managed sales and marketing for SunPower in Israel and led project development at Inbar, a local engineering, procurement and construction company.

‘Israel is a very promising market for the PV industry and an important market for Hanwha SolarOne,’ says Justin Lee, managing director of Hanwha SolarOne GmbH. ‘Due to its sunny climate, which provides approximately 1,800 kWh a year, grid parity is just around the corner.’
