Heliatek Enters BIPV Deal With Reckli

0

Heliatek GmbH, a Germany-based PV technology provider, has signed a joint development agreement with Reckli GmbH, a manufacturer of elastic molds for concrete building facades.

According to the companies, this agreement will enable vertical concrete walls of buildings to become solar energy harvesters by integrating Heliatek's organic solar panels directly onto concrete facade blocks. This new building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) product will combine energy harvesting to reduce a building's carbon footprint with an aesthetically pleasing visual appearance.

Heliatek's organic photovoltaic technology is ideally suited to this application, the company adds, as the product's efficiency remains constant up to 80 degrees C. The panels can be integrated onto the concrete without any need for ventilation.
