The meeco Group, based in Switzerland, has entered into a joint venture (JV) with BIJ Corp., a solar energy system provider based in Yokohama, Japan, and finergia advisory & finance, an Italy-based broker and financial advisor for renewable energy projects.

The agreement covers the venture's aim, which is to cooperate in the installation of solar photovoltaic capacity both in Japan and neighboring markets, such as the Fiji Islands. The meeco Group says it will provide its project expertise to the group.

The aim of the JV is to initially deploy 30 MW of grid-tied photovoltaic installations, as well as provide off-grid solutions. BIJ will provide and manage all of the local resources in Japan, identify suitable land and roof surface for the installation of photovoltaic plants and supervise the implementation, while finergia will provide financial solutions for the projects.
