Solana Beach, Calif.-based Open Energy Corp., a renewable energy company that focuses on developing solar energy technology, has completed the installation of its SolarSave roofing membranes on the Sweet Life Patisserie in Eugene, Ore.

A 10.8 kW system, which has 24 SP-450 W modules, was installed on a new single-ply membrane roof – Eugene-headquartered Advanced Energy Systems installed the solar system, the companies say.

‘Open Energy's SolarSave membranes were selected for this project based on their energy output with Sunpower's A300 cells, their light weight of only 2 pounds per square foot, which eliminated any structural concerns, and their ability to integrate into the new membrane roof that the owners were having installed,’ says David Parker, Advanced Energy Systems's owner.
