Solana Beach, Calif.-headquartered Open Energy Corp. has been selected by McCullough-Ames Development Inc. as the sole provider of solar roofing tiles for a 29-home development in San Diego.

Open Energy's SolarSave Roofing Tiles will be installed on all of the residences at Gables Crossing that are currently under construction. Each home – located in the Del Sur community of Black Mountain Ranch – is designed to have a 1 kW system that can be expanded.

‘We are pleased to work with McCullough-Ames and Open Energy to go above and beyond with a commitment to create a neighborhood where 100% of the homes are actively preserving and protecting the environment by creating solar energy,’ says Rick Valles Key of Home Energy Systems Inc., the development's solar integrator. ‘Open Energy's SolarSave Roofing Tiles provided us with an excellent match for this development, as it is able to be upgraded by the homeowner in order to suit that family's energy needs.’
