Japan-based finance and leasing firm Orix Corp. will invest 54 billion yen ($680 million) in developing approximately 200 MW of solar projects over the next three years.

According to Bloomberg, the company will split the investment between 100 MW of ‘solar power stations’ and 100 MW of rooftop PV arrays at factories and warehouses. The company will pay to lease the roof space.

Last month, Japan introduced a new feed-in tariff for solar projects, with rates starting at 42 yen/kWh.
