Washington Gas Energy Systems Inc. has completed 20 solar projects in Georgia with a total capacity of more than 15 MW.

All of the solar arrays will be owned and operated by Washington Gas Energy Systems under 20-year power purchase agreements with Georgia Power.

One of the projects, a 2 MW ground-mounted array in Donalsonville built by Cantsink Manufacturing, is expected to produce over 3 GWh of electricity per year. A 1 MW ground-mount array in Greenville was built by Hannah Solar and is expected to produce over 1.5 GWh of electricity annually. A 1 MW solar project in Richmond is also expected to produce more than 1.5 GWh of electricity per year.

‘These projects significantly increase renewable energy capacity in the state through the Georgia Power Advanced Solar Initiative,’ says Sanjiv Mahan, CEO of Washington Gas Energy Systems.
