CEC To Develop 425 kW Community Solar Project In Washington

0

Community solar developer Clean Energy Collective (CEC) has signed a contract with Spokane, Wash.-based Avista Utilities to develop a 425 kW shared solar facility.

Through the Avista Community Solar Program, any residential or commercial electric customer in Avista's Washington service area can subscribe to power generated from the 1,512-panel facility and receive credit for the power produced directly on his or her utility bill.

The program will feature individual 280 W panels, requiring a $1,400 subscription fee for each. Estimated payback for subscribers is 3.9 years.

Residential participation will be limited to four panels, and commercial capacity will be capped at eight panels, which is equal to 2.24 kW.

Avista will conduct a random selection of registered program applicants who enroll between June 1 and July 17, with an initial allotment notification to be made by Aug. 7.

Beginning June 1, Avista customers may enroll here.
