OutBack Power’s Battery-Based Inverters Receive Utility Approval In Hawaii

OutBack Power Technologies Inc. says Hawaiian Electric Cos. (HECO) has approved the company's Radian, FX and FXR multi-mode inverter/chargers for transient overvoltage self-certification.

OutBack says its products are the first battery-backed inverters to qualify for HECO's fast-trip requirements. Hawaii recently announced plans to generate 100% of its electricity using renewable energy by 2045.

‘OutBack Power shares Hawaii's commitment to renewable energy, but, to achieve that goal, energy storage is a requirement,’ says Brandon Provalenko, director of North American sales at OutBack Power. ‘HECO's certification of our battery-backed inverters validates the market need for energy storage and promotes a new energy future for Hawaii.’
