If you’re attending Intersolar North America and want to rock out, the Solar Battle of the Bands event is probably for you.

Quick Mount PV, a California-based solar mounting manufacturer, founded the unique industry party and musical competition that coincides with the trade show back in 2011. This year, the company will pass the torch to the California Solar Energy Industries Association (CALSEIA), which will now produce and host the party with the goal of building upon the event and expanding it in years to come. The event will return to the Mezzanine in San Francisco on Wednesday, July 12, during the week of Intersolar North America.

“We’ve always felt that Solar Battle of the Bands was an industry-wide event, not just a Quick Mount PV event,” states Claudia Wentworth, CEO of Quick Mount PV, the event founder and producer for the last six years. “We have been long-time supporters and members of CALSEIA and think they do great work for the industry. We want to further help their advocacy efforts in California, and we believe opening up this event to support CALSEIA’s work is a win-win for everybody.”

“CALSEIA couldn’t be more honored and excited to host this well-loved industry event,” says CALSEIA Executive Director Bernadette Del Chiaro. “It is our goal to preserve the spirit of Solar Battle of the Bands as an inclusive, yet high-quality live music event that celebrates the people that drive this industry forward every day.”

The event is made possible through contributions by sponsors and the participation of company-sponsored bands. Last year, six company bands from Fronius, Exosun, Sunpower, SolarCity, Inovateus Solar, and Quick Mount PV performed for a packed house of over 1,200 solar professionals throughout the night.
