Recurrent Energy says commercial operation has begun for the final of four solar photovoltaic projects providing a total of 88 MW of electricity to the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) under a 20-year feed-in tariff.
With the commercial operation of this solar PV project, Recurrent Energy has now achieved operation of approximately 138 MW of solar power projects, the company adds.
The first three projects in the SMUD portfolio reached commercial operation earlier this year. All four solar PV projects are located in Sacramento County near the cities of Galt, Elk Grove and Sloughhouse.
The 88 MW solar PV project portfolio secured a significant investment in December 2011 from Google and SunTap Energy RE LLC, a venture formed by Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. L.P. to invest in solar projects in the U.S.Â
