Rutgers University Breaks Ground On Large Solar Energy Facility

0

Rutgers University has broken ground for the construction of a 1.4 MW, seven-acre solar energy facility located at the university's Livingston campus. The system will be the largest of its kind on a single university campus in the U.S.

Rutgers will fund approximately half of the $10 million cost of the project, and the balance will be subsidized by a rebate through the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities' Clean Energy Program.

More than 7,000 ground-mounted photovoltaic modules from Yingli Green Energy will be installed by SunDurance Energy of South Plainfield, N.J.
