S&C And Lodestar Adding 2 MW Of Solar PV Plants In Massachusetts

0

S&C Electric Co. and Connecticut-based developer Lodestar Energy LLC have reached agreements to build nearly 2 MW of solar PV plants in Massachusetts.

S&C will provide engineering, procurement and construction services for the complete construction of a 1.2 MW system in Carver and a 650 kW system in Cheshire. Once construction is complete, the two projects will provide enough combined renewable energy to power nearly 300 homes.

The companies now have a total of five Massachusetts solar projects, which are projected to bring nearly 12 MW of distributed energy resources to the commonwealth – enough energy to power roughly 2,000 homes.

S&C previously worked with Lodestar to construct a now-completed 4.1 MW solar plant in Bridgewater. The companies also expect the 3 MW Curtis Hill and 3 MW Depot Hill projects in Charlton to be completed by the end of the year. In all five total joint ventures, S&C is supplying Lodestar with both AC and DC engineering.

For each project, S&C is providing its Vista underground distribution switchgear units, along with interconnectivity to National Grid and Eversource, the local utilities.
