Through a new partnership with Arcadia Power, Sierra Club members and supporters can choose to match their electricity usage with 100% clean energy and fund environmental protection by switching to Arcadia Power.

Arcadia Power provides an alternative for the 85% of Americans in all 50 states who pay a utility bill but don't have the ability to install rooftop solar, don't own their homes or who live in apartments.

Their model allows individuals and businesses a way to match their power usage with clean energy through the purchase of renewable energy certificates (RECs).

When Sierra Club members and supporters switch to Arcadia Power, not only are they reducing their environmental impact, they are also helping to expand clean energy in the U.S. by creating more demand for more renewable energy.

  1. My electric bill is higher using Arcadia Power, because I have Bangor Hydro Electric(Emera Maine) and pay their regular monthly bill as well as $10.00 extra that is going to Arcadia power. I was told I am now getting 85% of my power form new renewable energy from Arcadia Power. What is this a case of how a corrupt system works? I still have to pay Emera Maine for the privilege of their control of the territory I live in, and even though Arcadia power is providing 85% of my power, I still have to pay Emera Maine for energy they are no longer providing. Emera Maine is now only providing 15% of my power, so my electric bill from Emera Maine should be reduced by 85%. The electric power lines were paid for using taxpayer’s subsidies so the taxpayer’s own the electric lines. So the electric lines should not be an issue.
