Solar Power Inc. has announced plans to open four stores in the Sacramento, Calif., region. Its first store will open in Roseville, Calif., by Oct. 20.
The company also announced it plans to launch a national franchise network of its Yes! Solar Solutions-branded retail stores by year's end. The franchise network will initially concentrate in California, Colorado, Texas and Arizona, and the company hopes to build a network of 125 to 200 franchises, with each managing one to four stores that will market solar power systems for residential and small commercial buildings.
In other developments, Solar Power Inc. announced it has arranged to buy photovoltaic cells from Taiwan-based Motech Industries Inc. and E-TON Solar Tech. Solar Power operates a facility in Shenzhen, China, that manufactures its solar panels.
