Standard Solar has installed a 47.9 kW roof-mounted solar array for the Alice Ferguson Foundation (AFF), an environmental education organization based in Accokeek, Md.
The 174-module array was installed on the roof of the AAF's new education building, which is located on a 330-acre working farm. The project is expected to produce over 63.5 MWh of electricity per year. The solar electric system operates in tandem with geothermal wells and architectural features designed to make the building a net-zero facility.
‘As a business located in the watershed district, Standard Solar is also concerned about its preservation,’ says Tony Clifford, Standard Solar's CEO. ‘That's why we were so excited to be involved in this important project.’
