Sunrun Expands Services To South Carolina

Sunrun is expanding its home solar service to South Carolina.

This year, the company expects to generate at least 50 permanent jobs, ranging from sales consultants to installers to project managers, and plans to open a local office and warehouse facility in Columbia, S.C.

Initially, Sunrun will offer South Carolina homeowners the option to purchase their solar system or finance it through a third-party loan. Later this summer, Sunrun will also offer a lease whereby homeowners can simply pay a fixed monthly amount to Sunrun.

Sunrun will initially offer solar to homeowners serviced by Duke Energy [comma necessary?] in the Greenville and Spartanburg area. Over the summer, Sunrun will also be available to residents in regions serviced by South Carolina Gas & Electric, including the Columbia, Charleston and Hilton Head areas.

‘I'm pleased that South Carolina is leading the Southeast in encouraging solar adoption,’ says Lynn Jurich, CEO of Sunrun. ‘We look forward to establishing a presence in the Palmetto State and giving residents the choice to power their homes with solar while reducing their electric bills.’
