Auburn Hills, Mich.-based United Solar Ovonic, a wholly owned subsidiary of Energy Conversion Devices Inc., recently received a $15 million order from BIOHAUS PV Handels GmbH, a Paderborn, Germany-headquartered photovoltaic (PV) distributor, for the delivery of PV products in 2007.

According to BIOHAUS, the company has commissioned many installations using PV laminates manufactured by United Solar Ovonic.

‘Our continuous cooperation with BIOHAUS follows our overall strategic plan to expand our presence in Germany as well as in other European markets,’ says Salama Naguib, United Solar's vice president of global sales and marketing.

United Solar's new 30 MW Auburn Hills facility, which is a duplicate of its first facility in Auburn Hills, began commercial production in December 2006. This expansion has increased its manufacturing capacity to 118 MW (in 2007), 178 MW (in 2008) and over 300 MW (in 2010).
