California-based financial services firm Wiser Capital has launched an online platform to source, score and directly fund mid-scale commercial solar projects.

The Web-based platform supports Wiser Capital's direct investment channel, enabling accredited investors and community banks to directly invest in independently sourced, medium-scale commercial solar projects. The company says its site vets and connects qualified host facilities and photovoltaic system integrators.

Wiser Capital says the platform comprises a suite of analytical tools, financial modeling and transaction services for sourcing potential project opportunities and scoring the performance risk that any given project represents. All parties – from host facilities and system integrators to the investor – are linked by the platform's financial models and transaction structures.

‘Investor interest in commercial PV projects remains high due not only to the stability of these investments, but also because of the numerous benefits tied to the projects, including the ability to offset tax liabilities,’ says Wiser Capital Principal Nathan Homan. ‘By streamlining the solar analytics, financial feasibility assessments and transaction services that drive the development of these projects, and by giving accredited investors an opportunity to view a marketplace of carefully vetted projects seeking funding, we are able to vastly accelerate and scale the market for commercial and distributed PV developments.’
