Woodward Inc. says its 1,000 V SOLO solar inverters have passed all testing in accordance with the UL-1741 standard for solar inverters and equipment.

The 250 kW and 500 kW inverters and Smart String Boxes were tested and certified by a nationally recognized testing laboratory. The certification means the products are now available in the North American market.

The 1,000 V solar inverters reduce balance-of-system installation costs by allowing the connection of more modules per string, reducing the number of connection boxes and DC switches, lowering DC cable losses and simplifying the system design. The inverters feature efficiencies up to 98.2% and a wide maximum power point tracking range, Woodward adds.
