340 MW CSP Plant Slated For Arizona

Mohave Sun Power LLC plans to construct a 340 MW concentrating solar power (CSP) plant near Kingman, Ariz. The Kingman Daily Miner reports that the project, one of the largest in the world, will use parabolic trough technology with molten salt storage.

Project costs are expected to exceed $2.1 billion, and Mohave Sun Power has applied for a federal loan guarantee from the U.S. Department of Energy. Construction on the plant is slated to start in the fourth quarter and end in the second half of 2013.
