Automation Systems Interconnect Inc. (ASI) has released a new line of APV4 couples and connectors for cable-to-cable connections in solar PV installations.
The connectors are available with a 1000 VDC rating per IEC and TUV, the company says. The APV4 solar cable couplers/connectors are compatible with other industry-standard 4 mm solar connectors, such as the MC4 and H4 series. The male and female contacts have a wire range of 14 AWG and 12-10 AWG. The contacts are available in loose-piece or reel-mounted models, ASI adds.
The 35 A solar connector provides a protection rating of IP67. A strain relief with a compression gland is on the connector to provide a secure connection onto the solar cable insulation.
