Belectric Debuts Modular MegaWattBlock Solar Plant Unit

Belectric Technology GmbH, based in Germany, has introduced the 2.0 MegaWattBlock, a standardized plant unit with nominal power of 2 MW. The units can be combined to create larger ground-mounted solar power plants.

According to the company, the unit offers cost-effectiveness through its standardized system design and coordinated power plant components. The special power plant inverter with direct 20 kV medium voltage feed-in is tailored to applications with thin-film modules. The dynamic reactive power control enables a significant increase in network stability, Belectric adds.

The plant is also designed to operate in extreme environmental conditions and can be deployed in any region of the world. ‘Power generation at these power plants can compete with offshore wind power,’ says Belectric's Bernhard Beck.Â
