Germany-based Centrotec Sustainable AG has entered into an agreement to acquire a 38% interest in Industrial Solar GmbH, based in Freiburg, Germany.
Industrial Solar, which was formed through a series of spin-offs from the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems, specializes in solar process heat and solar cooling. The company has used a Fresnel collector system for projects in Spain, Italy, Germany, Tunisia and the United Arab Emirates, as well as for a feasibility study on solar cooling for the stadiums at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
According to the companies, Industrial Solar's range of products and services ideally complements the existing range of solar thermal systems offered by Centrotec subsidiary Wolf.
