Despatch Industries, a provider of solar cell manufacturing equipment, has announced that the company has been acquired by Patrick Peyton, Despatch's chairman and CEO.
Since entering the global photovoltaic market, the company has shipped over 4 GW of production capacity in metallization firing furnaces, and these furnaces currently hold the number-one market share in China, Despatch says. The company has also expanded its integrated, in-line diffusion line to include five different models, including pilot scale and R&D models.
Despatch notes that it is also expanding global operations to better serve its customer base. Aside from corporate headquarters in Minneapolis and regional offices in China and Singapore, the company recently opened a German subsidiary in Berlin.
‘We remain heavily invested in the solar industry and fully committed to providing cell manufacturers with the most technologically advanced equipment available,’ Peyton says. ‘Our equipment allows customers to produce the highest-efficiency cells with low cost of ownership. The focus at Despatch is always on improving what is available in the market today.’
