The City of Victorville, Calif., has issued a request for proposals (RFP) for a solar PV project totaling approximately 30 MW.

NRG Energy and Beowulf Energy are expected to be among the bidders for this project, according to a report at emii.com. Approximately 40 companies in total have expressed interest.

‘The city has acquired 200 acres immediately north of the Southern California Logistics Airport (former Victorville 2 Hybrid Power Project) which it desires to make available for purchase or lease to qualified developers to construct and operate a power facility capable of generating up to 49.9 megawatts (Gen Site),’ the city wrote in application documents. ‘The site is flat and undeveloped and within the city boundaries. It is one of the world's best areas for solar generation, receiving up to twice the sunlight received in other regions of the country.’

The deadline for bids is Sept. 16, according to documents posted by the city. For more information on submitting an application, click here.
