Cooper Bussmann Introduces New Square-Bodied Photovoltaic Fuse Links

0

Cooper Bussmann, a provider of circuit-protection, power-management and electrical-safety products, has introduced a new series of NH1 square-bodied photovoltaic fuse links. With ratings up to 1,000 VDC, these are the smallest NH-style fuse links to achieve this rating, and represent a breakthrough in fuse link design and performance, the company says.

The series offers amp ratings from 50 A to 160 A. Designed specifically to protect and isolate PV array combiner boxes, recombiner boxes and disconnects, these compact fuse links are capable of interrupting low overcurrents associated with faulted PV systems – reverse current, multi-array faults – and meet the IEC 60269-6 (gPV) standard requirements, Cooper Bussmann adds. UL and CCC accreditation are expected to follow, allowing the selection of one fuse link that meets global acceptance.

The compact size – 75 mm x 53 mm x 52mm – and bladed mounting options permit easy design and installation without increasing the footprint, the company notes. Optional microswitches easily permit integration with system monitoring schemes.
