Day4 Energy Inc., a supplier of solar electric solutions, says it has received International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) 61215 and 61730-2 certification for the 60MC-I module with Guardian Technology.

‘We are on track with our full-scale commercial production, and with IEC certification now confirmed, we expect to complete the first large volume shipments of our already-established frame contracts for the 60MC-I by the start of the second half of this year,’ says George Rubin, president of Day4 Energy.

IEC 61215 and 61730-2 are recognized industry standards that verify that the modules have passed the required series of tests and are suitable for long-term operation in a wide range of outdoor climates, according to Day4 Energy. These tests examine the important technical requirements for photovoltaic modules – namely reliability, durability, efficiency, electrical safety and performance degradation over time. IEC certification for photovoltaic modules is a requirement for sales to the European market.
