DuPont has acquired Sunnyvale, Calif.-based Innovalight Inc., a firm that focuses on developing silicon inks and related process technologies for crystalline-silicon solar cell applications.
DuPont says its experience in production scale-up and manufacturing operations will accelerate the time to market for Innovalight's products and broaden customers' access to the technology. The company says it anticipates that the acquisition will enable ‘opportunities for greater efficiencies and future innovations which could more quickly and effectively help address the market demand for higher-efficiency solar cell designs.’
