The General Motors (GM) electric motor plant in White Marsh, Md., features a new 1.23 MW solar installation, located on the roof of GM's 2-Mode Hybrid and Heavy Duty Transmission building.
According to the company, the array will generate 9% of the facility's annual energy needs and save approximately $330,000 during the life of the project.
Constellation Energy will build, own and maintain the solar power system, and GM will purchase all of the electricity generated by the solar panels under a 20-year power purchase agreement.
